Need Advice

I met a guy over a year ago when I was on vacation.  We have stayed in touch ever since; talking 3-7 times a week on the phone and doing the occasional text message. Everytime we plan to get together, something happens and our plans get canceled. He had a major stroke last week. He says he does not remember who I am. I have called him 3 times and he will talk to me....and aplogize for not remembering who I am. twice he seemed OK with me calling. Once he seemed upset. After this last time, he called back later and left me a voicemail cussing at me, saying he does not know who I am and to leave him alone. I do not know if I should leave him alone as he says or if I should wait awhile and try communication again. I really like this man. I would even be willing to start at square one again and get to know each other all over again if I have to...but I don't know what to do.....

No grounds for a restraining order...when he missed Valentine's Day...I got worried...he did not return my phone call. I left him one message and he did not call me back. I called him on Monday after Valentine's Day and he told me he had been in the hospital, had had a stroke and began telling me he would need therapy and not having much use of his right arm...etc...I asked him something and he asked why such a question and that was when I thought something was REALLY wrong. I asked him about his memory and he told me of some things he could not remember...but never told me how bad it was until I mentioned something that happened on New Year's...that was when he told me he did not know who I was.  I asked if I could call again and he told me yes...so a couple days later, I did...and we talked and he was fine...wanted a picture...so I sent one.  A few days later, I called again and everything was fine...he told me to call back whenever I wanted.  Then about an hour later, he called and I missed catching the phone before it went to voicemail.  That was when he cussed me out and said I confuse him and to leave him alone.  So, no grounds for harassment or stalking would apply.  I just don't know what to do... I miss him.

He has grounds for a restraining order against you, as well as a harassment and stalking charge, which has many adverse effects, and can affect your employment. It appears as if he does not want to see you or have contact with you. My two cents is to leave him alone. It's a big ocean.
