I am the care taker as well to a 55 year old male who suffered a massive right sided stroke Sept 29th, had a carainiotomy Oct 1, 2010. He will undergo a crainioplasty Jan 10th, 2011. He as well is slow to progress at this point. He had some hip movement, and trace of upper thigh movement. While he has learned to sit up on his own, and can transfer with help, little progress. I have not heard of accupucture for strokes but worth a look into based on above comments.....He is taking zolof for depression now....long road ahead. I would love to look into stem cell reseach ........
How long does swelling in the brain take before it goes away?
Hi Veese, my mother also had a messive stroke. It's been seven months now, and she also is paralyzed on her left side, she just started to move her left leg (very little movement) but not her toes, and she has no control of her left arm. Is your son still doing any therapy? Does he sit up strong by himself? My mom has a hard time sitting up without falling over. Did your son go through that? We are taking her home this tuesday, but we are going to continue with therapy. We hear that ACUPUNCTURE works wonders with stroke patience, so were're going to try that as soon as we get her home. Try it. The sooner the better.
p.s
look for an acupuncturist that
specializes with the brain.
