Actually, my husband had an intercerebral hemorrhage, too. I don't know why the doctors didn't disallow him from driving. Do you have seizures? My husband doesn't but he takes dilantin in case he does have one. You will have to prove that you can operate a car and that you know the rules of the road to get your driving priviledges back. You may have to take a driving test if your liscense has been suspended. Good luck and I hope you can return to driving soon.
I had a intercerebral hemorage stroke. Maybe it was the type of stroke that i had that made the doctor and my therapist disallow me from driving. But now i have been through therapy and I have started on more physical therapy to help me out with diabitis. thanks for your resonse.
My husband has returned to driving. In fact, he really started driving about 5 months after his stroke. At first I would ride with him. Then he would go to the corner store (about 2 blocks from where we live). After a while he would go a mile, then 5 miles. He only drives in familiar territory and he doesn't drive at night. Today he drove to his doctors appointment and to get a haircut for the first time without me. He refused to let me go.
His doctor never said he couldn't drive. Is that what you were told? My husband has diplopia but he has prisms in his glasses that control that. Hope this helps a little.
