Hi I would like to be added to the roll call. My name is Julie, I'll be 41 this coming Sunday, Feb. 21st. This is our 2nd cycle ttc #2. We have a handsome, loving son who is 2yrs 10mths old. I want him to have at least one sibling. We are ttc naturally so far. I had great feelings about this cycle but my temp took a dive this morning, and we know what that usually means. AF hasn't showed up yet but last month I woke up to find her. I'll let you know in the morning. I need to go back and read some of these posts. I wanted to get something posted while my son is still naping. Time is precious with a 2yr old, full time job, and everyone is sick on top of that. Ahhhh motherhood, I love it, the good and the bad. :)
Sherri...
You are soooo fired up lady & I am LOVIN' it. ;o) It amazes me when these RE's tell a lot of these younger ladies (35ish) that they definitely CANNOT become pregnant w/o assistance, or it is nearly impossible. Yes, there are some instances were there may be issues and of course medical intervention needed, but it seems very often that this is the norm that is being weaved.
You are soooo right when you say that we know our bodies better...we live in this skin. I too like you, know down on the inside of my being that I am going to become pregnant, carry to term & deliver a healthy baby. It is weighing though at times, because of the stigma that is attatched to women 40+ ttc. The sad part to me is when you have women in the 40+ age group, who are equally convinced, then pass it down to others as finite...the end.
We are human beings, who are as different as day & night. Again, I understand we have stats...they aren't going anywhere, but we are complex individuals...no 2 are alike. The cookie cutter mentality has invaded the world of infertility. ;o)
It's good that we can laugh about it and encourage each other. Everyone has to go their own distance! What will make 1 person totally give up, will be that "thing" to cause another person to fight harder. Fight your fight as long & as hard as you can, because at the end of the day, you have to look at you in that mirror & say/know...I did all that I knew & could do. I certainly wouldn't want to say, well, so & so said that this was the end, so it is. ;o)

Most welcome for the post! We all need a pep talk sometimes! (including me! I was probably writing to myself as much as to everyone else) It's just so easy to get caught up in this. I'm so happy to have found this site! I don't feel so alone in this any more. I have a very supportive DH2B, but having a group of women who uniquely understand my struggle and where we can share support and ideas with each other is invaluable!
We know our bodies better than any doctor! Always remember that! My OB told me at age 39 (2 years ago) that I was in menopause and would not likely be able to have a child! Never even considered that my FSH was high due to a hormonal imbalance! It may not happen this month or next month, but I will be successful eventually! I know it and feel it in my heart of hearts! And I only keep drs in my group who can help me follow the path I need to be on to get there. (My last RE, after doing all the miscarriage tests and not finding anything abnormal, did not offer one suggestion of anything I could do to help my hormone balance. So that was my last visit to him!) :-) Never mind that my low progesterone was right there on the lab report!
I'm not a doctor, but near as I can tell, our biological alarm clock is only going to go off when we hit actual menopause and our period has not come for twelve consecutive months! If we're skipping some periods, that's perimenopause. A little trickier to conceive, but totally possible. The rest of us with regular monthly periods are either ovulating or are capable of it! So let's try to take lots of deep breaths and remind ourselves that we do have some time! And there's a very good chance that we're all going to eventually figure out what adjustment(s) need to be made in order for our embies to stick and stay where they're supposed to for 9 months!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day! SSBD to all!
:) Sherri
A little addition: I just backed up and read Sherri's post a little above mine. Very good words to hear today :)
Disappointing u/s result today (and for some reason it was very uncomfortable when she looked at the left side). Only 3 follicles maturing to where they want; one more night of meds then back for another u/s in the morning to see if any of the other follies progress. Trying to stay cheery, but... Well, I'll try not to go off on another emotional nosedive if egg retrieval gets cancelled again.
Greetings Ladies...
