broken hearted

me and my ex were seeing each other again and i told him how i felt about 2 weeks ago and he didn't like it and told me to stay away so i wouldn't get hurt and we sorted everything out again but 3 days ago he told me he liked someone else and now i've found out he's got a girlfriend. i haven't said anything to him because i don't want to cause an argument between us. i've asked if i can meet him but i have to sort it out with him.

when i got off the phone to him i broke down and cried for 2 hours straight and i feel like i can't go on anymore. he is the love of my life and i don't know what to do any more.

are these normal feelings or should i go to the doctors to get some help?

These are normal feelings.  But these are the times where one is susceptible for normal feelings of despair to turn into something truly unhealthy.  So I would suggest that you find a good counsellor you can talk to about this.  They may be able to give you some good coping strategies so that all of this can be over as soon as possible, and so that you can keep yourself safe.  They can also monitor how you're feeling so that if it does ever get to the point that these feelings aren't normal anymore, then they can tell you and refer you to someone who can give you some treatment options.
Good luck.
