Please help!

I have recently turned 13 and I think I suffer from from depression. I cry a lot about small things and sometimes I don't even know why my life exists some times. If I do suffer from depression is there a way to get rid of it or will it always be by my side? Thank you if you answer

Thanks I will try this. I have spoken to a few people about what has happens and they are helping but they ask then how ate you happy I never see you sad. I reply with I hide my feelings because even though I seem happy I am actually dieing inside. I hide my feelings because I don't want to effect our friendship.

I know it is, I've been there too. It's hard to understand and feel and is really scary to deal with. You may want to think about journaling, buying a special notebook and write what your mood is, why, what caused it. What thoughts you're having, when they happen or if they last or just come at random times. Even if you're not up to the point of showing it to anyone, it could help you become more aware of what you're thinking and feeling.

Saying it is not a cry for help that should be ignored or demeaned. It's not a bad thing to make it more vocal, it could get you help sooner.

Hang in there

Thanks. That's not all that happens in my life. I am a bit scared at times that I might kill my self. Sometimes when I am having a really bad day I say things like  I am going to kill my self and etc. it's scary to think this stuff.

It sounds like depression, least some symptoms. There is no way to get rid of it exactly, only manage it. There are medications and therapy, support groups, crisis lines. There are a lot of resources there to help you, you just have to find the courage to use them.

My advice would be to talk to someone, family, parents, trusted friend, teacher, school counselor. Someone who will support you because above all else, you need support. A teacher or parent will likely suggest a doctor or therapist, do not resist treatment, be as open and honest about your symptoms as you can, they can't help what they don't know about. Depending on the severity of your case, it may be helped by therapy or medication, if it's severe a hospital stay. At your age those are scary, I went in my first at 15 and had nightmares for weeks. Nothing bad happened in there but it's hard for your brain to adjust when it starts down a certain way. If you can't wait to talk to someone close or a doctor, there are crisis lines, they can help you. Its not easy to talk to a stranger but they'll keep you alive. Also, if it gets bad enough, go to the ER. They can help too.

Depression shouldn't be ignored, it can lead to substance abuse or suicide at worst. Seek help, it may always be there but with the right tools, you can live a more normal life.
