☼ SUN ☼ SUN ☼ Did anybody see the new Mederma + SPF Cream? I'm going to to try it ...

for my scar bcz I always am throwing 30SPF moisturizer lip balm over the thyroidectomy scar .. (keep it in my pocket) so why not do it with Maderma Cream + SPF and see if it helps with the scar ?  I'm 1.5yrs post op so I think it'll feel ok to use it .. earlier on it used to burn .. but was too soon after surgery to use the cream I do believe.

AR-10 .. the sun does wonders for us when using proper protection.  It is the scar after the surgery that one must be very concerned about.  Because after any type of surgical procedure (even stitches) a year is the benchmark to be certain it is always protected with SPF 30+ (as a guideline) because before a year the sun can actually cause the pigments in the scar area to become permanently darker and the scar may heal fine, but be discolored darker than surrounding skin.

So what is the deal with the Sun now that I don't have a thyroid, maybe, someday?

Last year, and the Summer before, I wasn't outside much at all. This Summer I'm hoping to change that. But my gland has been nukularized.

Is the Sun going to bother me? I've already got wierd things going on with my skin.

A rash on both sides of my neck, my forehead is dry and flaky, although handsome, the skin on and around my nose is thicker. The skin on my arms and hands is paper thin, like I'm 70 or something.  

Well, that's enough detail...

So am I going to be more sensative to the Sun?
I've always tanned easily. But my skin has changed. Is being out in the Sun going to mess up my skin worse?

Do I need to get an Indiana Jones style hat?

I saw that in the store this season!  I have skin cancer issues, too, so SPF broad spectrum is good I've been told .. that new one from Neutrogena I use .. the Helium or something like that ??

The Mederma is for making the scar look good and they added the SPF ..

Speaking of SPF, I found one that's 80.  It's intense but it does work on the face.
