I will have my current insurance for two more months, then it will be beyond my affordability. Gearing up for the future.
Due to Armour messing things up (way to go) and now taking a few months of generic dessicated thyroid a pharmacist located for me until Nature-Throid is available will require numerous additional lab tests. I seem to be able to fairly accurately guess my thyroid levels from symptoms now. Those of us on the thyroid roller coaster are good at that after a while.
I may be looking at self employment in the very near future as our decent jobs seem to diminish. I have been without insurance before, but its harder to do that as we age!
Hopefuuly you won't have a problem with that.
They don't have anything like that here in California, wish they did. It's funny, I see all kinds of free help for mental problems, but not for physical medical problems. Which I am not saying that I think there shouldn't be programs for mental disorders as well. it would just be nice if there were more options for those of us without insurance. Do you currently not have insurance?
Now I just hope a doctor around here will re-perscribe meds based on a lab they dont deal with?
Other options for uninsured: Their is a new clinic here (in Minnesota) that is like a real doctors office but only deals with people that don't have insurance. I think this is getting more popular in this economy. They are NOT affiliated with anything (like hospital owned) that inflates there pockets!
Glad to help. The lab I used was literally less than 5 minutes from my house.
They will e-mail the paperwork, just print it up, and you're on your way. I had the test on a Friday, and the results were e-mailed to me by 8:00 Monday morning.
Thanks! I just checked it out online. Pay them online. Go to a lab they work with only 10 miles from home for blood draw. Wait for results.
I used HealthCheckUSA. I got a TSH, FreeT3, and FreeT4, it was $ 85.00.
They are online.
