Thank you all for all your comments. The issue with heart rate is better. I apologize for late reply. I've been fighting am/early afternoon nausea for 3 weeks. I had it a while back and it got better, but has come back. Today they did a CT scan (I had breast cancer 20 years ago) and Monday they are going to a ACTH stimulation test. We were suppose to head on vacation on Monday, but will now shoot for leaving on Tues if I feel up to it.
Laura - Thanks for you comments about Vit B complex & Vit C supplementation. I already supplement with Vit B, but not Vit C. And luckily do not drink most things with caffiene-a big water drinker. I do drink a chocolate nuitritional supplement (natural caffiene?).
Stella - Thanks for info on the filler. I'm going to ask the pharmacy where I got the Armour if they do any compounding.
no there right on caculations.
but the filler MCC in Armour can stall proper absorbtion on T3 hormone releasing into cells.
That is documentated medical fact and if you experience further issues - pull up the articles and take it to your doctor to improvise your treatment. Armour is packed with MCC right now since the reform - so is RLC's Naturethroid.
You may need to special custom coumpound thyroid to get a better release.
Adjustment periods too need to go hand in hand with your new treatment too. Just track and read more on MCC>
Supporting the adrenals should be an ongoing thing for a thyroid patient. Especially since you recently went back on Armour. Your neurologist is not going to understand this most likely.
You can start supporting your adrenals by taking a good Vit B complex twice a day. (I would take a liquid for easy absorption) Also important for the adrenals is Vit C (I take 3,000 mg per day), and you can also find an adrenal adaptogen which does not contain any stimulants. Try your best to limit your caffiene, as too much can really weaken those adrenals! :)
Sorry if my post was confusing.
The last time they checked the adrenals all was ok, but that was at least a year ago. The neurologist ran a bunch of tests about a month ago (having problems with numbness in hands & feet- carpal tunnel, etc), but don't think the adrenals were checked. I see my neurologist tomorrow, so will ask her about it.
According to Armour's website prescribing info, 1 grain (60mg) has 9 mcg of T3 and 38 mcg of T4.
I was taking 15 mcg (5mcg 3x/day) of Cytomel with the Synthroid.
It would seem since I'm taking 1 grain it would appear I am taking less than when I was taking the Cytomel (ie 9mcg with the Armour verses 15 mcg of Cytomel).
Maybe my calculations are incorrect.
Thanks
"HR goes up when I stand & BP drops about 12 points."
That can be one symptom of low adrenals. So you might look into that.
How do you know your getting less T3 if you've only been back on Armour for 4 days? - confusing to read.
