When you test your thyroid labs, is it best to go in the morning? Should you take your levo and cytomel? Or afternoon on no meds? Please someone explain.
When you test your thyroid labs, is it best to go in the morning? Should you take your levo and cytomel? Or afternoon on no meds? Please someone explain.
It's okay to take T4 meds before the draw (but be consistent and either always take them or never...don't mix it up), but not T3 meds. Any time of day is fine, but once again, be consistent as there's a fair diurnal fluctuation in all labs. Because you can't take T3 before the draw, most people on T3 have the draw first thing in the morning and take their T3 right after.
