Which medical professionals would that be? As far as we have been able to determine, there is no published statistically valid scientific data that supports that contention, only anecdotal information. The mainstream medical community does not recognize that possibility, so I wondered which group you are talking about, and what information to research.
There is strong belief among some medical professionals that wheat/gluten removal from the diet can improve or totally eradicate Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, even for people who don't test positive for celiac desease. You may want to do some research into this topic. Best wishes.
Haven't seen Shannon around for ages; this sounds like an advertisement.

I can only assume you are also on a medication for thyroid, in addition to your extra curricular activity.
TT = means Total thyroid removal
RAI = in this case would mean Radio Active Iodine was done (most likely to kill cancer cells)
No exercise of any type can possibly replace the need for thyroid hormones that you are lacking if you have Hashimoto. You wuill need more hormone as time goes on. After years most Hashi thyroids die and you will be soely dependent on replacement hormone to function.
So you know, you need free T3 and Free T4 tests at least twice per year with Hashimoto, not just TSH.
Not mentioned, many Hashi people have more aches and pains than before they were diagnosed - Yoga can help with this.
TT" -total thyroidectomy - thyroid removal for Graves or cancer cases.
RAI - radio active iodine - a medical treatment , associated with Graves hyperthyroid or thyroid cancer.

Hi Shannon,
What is the "TT" and "RAI".
I too have recently been diagnosed with Hashimoto's and I also practice Bikram yoga. So I am interested to know whether, with Bikram yoga I can boost my immune system so I don't have to take medication. ie. Thyroxin supplement.
Regards,
Ian
Hi Shannon,
Thanks for sharing this iniformation! I still have a question: do you drink any medicine for Hypothyroidism besides practicing yoga?
It will be helpful to know.
Thanks,
Giselle
