Blood tests?

Hi,

My doctor doesn't bother with blood tests for me unless I push it. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's in April 2006. How often should tests be conducted???

Thanks!

ok, when you are first diagnosed until your levels are maintained at about the same numbers each test you should be tested maybe monthly at first then every 3-6 months.. after a year or 2 you can go to yearly (I love  yearly )  they can also give you a year long refill on your meds.  sounds like maybe you weren't stabilized before they quit testing.. get a new doctor. communication is very important.

Are you meds? I think you should be tested pretty regularly. How do you feel?

Hi,

My doctor took blood and found antibodies. She put me on 50 synthroid but never followed up. I was feeling really lousy and my TSH went up and up and then she raised my dosage to 75. I just don't feel right and kind of think my doctor doesn't take it seriously at all.
