Hi, will go back to find your other post ... I've been offline a lot this weekend. Have you had your Vit D levels checked?
C~
In addition to thyroid problem, lowered female hormones, and a medication side effect with some drugs, stress can actually make your hair fall out as well. It happened to me. I had a doctor on the radio tell me to take vit. B 50 time release (if it's a good one, it should turn your urine bright yellow), ester-C & 100 IU (I think) of vit. E.
When doctors, medications and OTC such as naturemade sam-E and omega fatty acid sources, such as fish oil or flaxseed oil capsules, macadamia and walnuts, freshwater fish and pumpkin seeds don't help the depression, I know of only One Who can heal even when the medicines and all the doctors you go to can't, the Lifter of my head. It is easy to get depressed with all circumstances we who don't feel well find ourselves in and anxiety can bring on depression too. That's one reason why I'm thankful to God that His mercies are new every morning.
Maybe you have a friend who could do a yard sale or something and tell people you are raising money because you are ill and need to get to a neuroendocrinologist? Maybe you could ask people instead of giving you Christmas gifts this year, to give you air miles or something? I know that one of the neuroendocrinologists that used to be at Vanderbilt was recruited away to San Francisco.
I replied to your first posting .......hope it helps.
An Endocrinologist should be able to get blood labs done for ANY Autoimmune Disease.
Come to think of it...A normal GP can do the same.
