I take 30mg Armour and 5 mcg Cytomel in the morning at 6:30am and 30mg Armour and 5 McG Cytomel again at 3pm. I feel great, much better than when they had me on just 30mg Armour once a day.
Thank you all..learning all I can. Still not quite getting it. Thank u very much for additional info.
Sorry i had a brain lapse and thank my sponsors for correcting me. armour has 38 mcg t4 and 9 mcg of t3 in it. I made an error and said it had 7 mcg of t3 in it. sorry.
Since Armour has both T3 and T4 in it, your doctor probably thought your FT4 was good, but maybe you aren't converting well enough, so need more T3.
I agree with Bruce that we need to know exact lab results, as well as reference ranges, which vary lab to lab, so must come from your own report.
Was TPOab the only antibody tested? You should also have Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TGab) tested, since you need both to diagnose Hashimoto's. Low levels of TPOab can be present in other conditions, as well.
can you post your last labs with the ranges so we can see what he saw that made him do this?
a grain is a unit of measurement for natural thyroid hormone.
1 grain - 60 mcg armour
2 grains - 120 mcg armour
do you are on 1 grain armour and 5 mcg cytomel
TPO is the antibodies. If your antibodies are high, that means you have hashimotos. Your thyroid is under attack by your body.
Google "hashimotos" and you will see what is going on. Armour has t3 in it,however your doctor felt your t3 was low so he added more t3 in the form of cytomel. confusing isnt it?
each "grain" of armour has 38 mcg t4 and 7 mcg of t3 in it.
