Dentist thinks mouth problem linked with Thyroid scan!

Hi, I posted a few days ago about problems I am having with strange 'dry' feeling down my tongue on left side.  I saw my Dentist today for an opinion and he says he cannot see anything partucularly abnormal with my tongue and I do not have any soreness/swelling in the salivary gland area - he says I would definitely know if it was blocked.  He has told me to check with my Surgeon/Endo when I next see them about the possibility of there being some connection with having the Radioiodine scan on my thyroid.  I am getting quite jumpy about this because it is a really unpleasnat feeling in my mouth and I was never told that there would be any kind of side effects.
Is there anyone out there who has experienced ANYTHING similar? Or heard about any side effects like this?
Tonight my tongue feels really tingly and dry again.
Thanks
J

Thanks for that - it's a mystery to me.  But it's definitely a problem that's becoming a worry!

I had a scan in October with I123.  I had no side effects at all.  My taste wasn't off, no soreness, nothing.  I recently spoke with a nukie tech.  She was the little girl next door, but all grown up.  Their mobile clinic uses I131 for scans because it has a longer half-life.
Maybe if you had I131?  I don't know.  You could try some sour candies to stimulate your salivary glands.

Sorry, I just don't know?
