Do I have hypothyroidism

I Have recently decided to go see a dietician as I exercise 4-5 times a week and eat healthy (900-1500 calories per day)

The dietician asked me to do numerous blood tests. here are the results
S Cholesterol 6.4 mmol/L
S-LDL Cholesterol 4.1 mmol/L
S-HDL Cholesterol 1.7 mmol/L
p-Glucose (fasting) 4.2 mmol/L
S-Insulin (fasting) 6.6 uIU/mL
S-TSH 5.11 uIU/mL
S-FT4 11pmol/L
Blood group A+

I did have the flu when the blood was drawn, could that affect my results? Also, I am on Yasmin, could this affect my results.

I read of some people on hypothyroid medication that actually gain weight...Why is this and is it common?

Thank you
M Parkin

Thank you very much for your reply

reference range for TSH 0.37-3.51
Reference range for FT4 7.5-21.1

I went to the dr since I posted my question, he has put me on euthyrox 0.05mg, so I hope this helps.

Weight gain is my main symptom, but I have been feeling a little down lately and tired

Thank you once again

Are you on a medication for hypothyroidism?

Without reference ranges for your blood test results, we have no idea whether or not they are normal.  We particularly need the reference range for the FT4, since that and TSH are the thyroid tests done.

Usually, people on thyroid medication gain weight, because they need an adjustment in their medication.

Is weight gain your only symptom?
