Sorry... It wasn't a total thyroid removal, it was the right side of my thyroid that had the tumor that was removed. I still have the left side . Guess i didnt know what a TT was = (
Yes I agree with all above there must be some reason why so hyper .. those with cancer after their surgery are medicated to get a TSH as yours is now bcz almost all with TT need thyroid meds ... maybe a small piece was left and is producing hormones? Ask your docs .. but even a small piece left to be such a # like that doesn't make sense.

Thank you very much ! I was never put on thyroid meds after the TT and I believe it was a ear, nose and throat Dr that did my surgery back then. I didn't have a computer back then to explore my options like we do now. Thats for the advice! Im not gonna take the zocor. I've been dieting since Feb and lost 35 pounds so i think I can manage a cholesterol lowering diet plan. I just dont want to be over medicated. And I suspect my thyroid to be the problem with the hyertension.
Thanks

If you haven't started the Zocor yet, I would not take it. You can always start taking it six months from now after you sort out your other problems. High Cholesterol is not a huge health threat for you right now.
I'm not sure how the Toprol will react with the Diovan, but you may see some overlap and your blood pressure med may need adjusted. Did the doctor discuss the effect of taking both drugs?
I looked in a drug reference manual, and it doesn't say you can't take them both, but I understand your concern.
As Stella said, your blood pressure problem may resolve itself once you start taking a thyroid med like Methimazole. You may need to taper off of the Diovan at some point, so you should be mindful of what your blood pressure is doing and be prepared to ask your doctor to adjust or discontinue the Diovan.
You're not on any thyroid meds, so you will need to find out why you are hyper, and you will likely be on the Toprol for a few months at least while the thyroid problem is sorted out.
Best of luck to you.
I would assume you are on thyroid meds due to the TT 20 yrs ago. IN your TSH ( if you are having symptoms you are on the hyper end of your labs.
At the most - the endo may change your dosage of thyroid medication to higher the TSH a bit.
Your BP issues may also resolve if your TSH is balanced out.
