Scared and Wondering

I am taking Dilatizem and tonight I was given a shock. I need to know if anyone knows anything about this medicine.

What happened? Well..............First I noticed my heart rate get REALLY fast rather quickly. Then I noticed within seconds I couldnt breathe. Then my body was forced to get rid of everything that was on my stomach. After that, it took at lease 15 minutes for the pain to subside. Then my heart rate returned to normal.

You can also look it up on top of the page under Health Topics (drugs) but I didn't see it there spelled as such ?

I'd call your doc before taking another one for sure .... you may be allergic.

How is the name spelled on the bottle? Did you look it up on Drugs.com? I know an increased heart rate is not rare with thyroid problems, mine will go anywhere between 84 and 106 at rest. Good Luck on your tests. FTB4

This is the medication that my specialist put me on????. Of course at this point in time, my resting heart rate is 115. (Dont ask me, that is what he said) I was taking PTU but, as with practically and medications, my body was rejecting it. Now he says tht I have three nodules on my thyroid that have to be biopsied and if they aren't cancer we can do RADIOACTIVE IODINE.

Did you mean Diltiazem? Because this is a cardiac and blood pressure medication to treat Tachycardia, Relax Heart Muscles and treatr Angina and High Blood Pressure it is in the Calcium Channel Blocker Group.
What was this prescription meant to treat in your case? Check and make sure, You can go to www.drugs.com and enter the name in the search bar and it will give you all info regarding any medications, including side affects, interactions etc. Good Luck FTB4
