How much is ERFA?  Do any insurances cover it?

My armour compounded is $36!  My insurance will not cover compounded. It won't cover Naturethroid either but its only $15 but I don't know when it will ever come in they say middle of Febuary but we will see.

Picked it up a couple dollars more then walgreens told me but thats ok it was $17 for NT 3 grains.  This pharmacist is AWSOME!!  He said he ordered a whole bunch when the whole deal with armour started so he would have it for people but he says he does not have anyone on it..I am not sure if I want to make it known he has it or not lol makes me safe.

Keep in mind you may need a little more NT than, say, original Amour. Several here have confirmed this.So if your a little hypo on the same amount, you know why. But start on the same (per thier chart) to see how it goes.

NT splits well, unlike the new Armour, so modifying dose is easy per symptoms and labs after a while (you will need labs again).

Thats great!

I called around here and most pharmacies around here are not even allowed to order NT??  Walgreens told me the middle of feb so I am hoping for that we don't have cvs here.

WOW  thought I would try again called another pharmacy they have NT say they will have me transfered and filled in half hour!!  Thank goodness I was starting to worry.  I sure hope NT works better for me.

I just called  a new CVS - in many states by now I would imagine. To my surprise, they have Nature Throid in one grain size,  they got it 2 weeks ago, - I asked, I didnt ask for the price though.

The big box pharmas by me dont even recognize NT, their still stuck in the armour or nothing thought.

I understand the 'sticker' shock, since you had a great deal with your insurance.

Some of those online pharmas may be taking advantage of supply and demand now, Northwest was the cheapest last month.

For those that need dessicated and are used to paying cash,  $20 to $30 a month can be the price range to feel good, taking availability into the price with shipping ect.

Nature throid is better for most than the reformulated Armour.

For many, synthetics are not a choice, as symptoms will return.

Oh my goodness ERFA is way expensive :(  atleast compared to what I have been paying.  I sure hope NT starts coming around.  I may have to be looking into synthetics again and I really don't want to do that.

Guess my insurance is good for something lol

It doesn't cover hardly anything besides prevenative it is state insurance PCN.

I am not sure on the # of pill for NT I will have to ask.

I am hoping I don't feel like 3 grains is not enough NT comparing to armour.  I wish I could just stay with Armour but I would like to try NT and see how I feel and I can't find armour...

Thats a good price from Walgreens. Is that (3) x 1 grain per day.  If so thats 90 NT pills a month for $15, very good price.

You must have good ins!  $5 for Armour, wow!

My ins price of Armour last summer was $25 per month, cash was $17, yep.

I think this is regulated per state law, how they can cover it, so it can vary. Just like some states you can have out of state health insurance, and some you cant, it drives up the cost, as monopolizing always does.

You pay shipping, about $10 to the states, so get more than one month. ERFA prices vary, it should be close to the price for Armour, cheap. Look up northwest pharmacy with .com after it.

Your nature throid price of $15 must be just one tab a day (1 or 1/2 grain?) per month?

News to you? : Most dessicated prices have a cheaper cash price vs insurance (some other drugs too) , Yes insurance charges more, a latest trend to get our money. Be glad our meds are so low priced compared to others.

Most compounding is .75 to $1.00 per capsule. I like to split up my 2.5 grains of dessicated per day, its easy and still cheap. If I did that with compound, I would need at least 2 capsules a day(costly), so I dont go that route. Some have a slow release t3, but that just throws another variable in place.  I can adjust any dose with manufactured pills by splitting and adding using one grains, so convenient vs capsules. Its whatever you are used to and like I guess.
