Wow...not sure if I have ever heard of that but it makes sense. I need to find out if my endo does know about it. That sounds very interesting!
I am going to see if I can get some extra labs tomorrow. I think that whatever is making me sick has thrown my thyroid for a loop.
Thanks again!
You never know, it could be mono and thyroid acting up at the same time. When I went hypo due to too much MMI I felt like I had the flu. I know others have said they have flu like symptoms when they are hypo. Have they tried ''add back''AKA the ''block and replace'' method with you yet? Basically they just medicate you for hypo and hyper at the same time. Thye'd put you on a dose of methimazole/PTU and synthroid/levo. This is the best method of use for those with hashitoxicosis. I have all 3 antibodies as well but my labs are always hyper or slightly hyper and I don't switch back and forth. Find a new endo if yours has never heard of it!
To get an accurate idea of whats going on thyroid - wise your need to get what is called FreeT3 and Free T4 tested., these are the direct hormones your cells need not TSH. TSH is a messenger hormone, realy a signal from the pituitary telling the thyroid what to do - it changes by the hour. And even if you were to go by TSH, as unreliable as it is, at 4.4 your hypo. - but need to see the free's.
An irritated thyroid can swell more internally and may effect breathing.
Lymph nodes as far as I understand react to body infection - like mono. Seems like some people have very noticalbe lymph node changes when sick or they have never even been aware of them even if the're on a deathbed so to speak.
