FINALLY A DR. LISTENED!

I  have not written in forever because I was SO VERY hypo, I could barely get to work.  I had Graves Disease and radiated my thyroid & have been dealing with hypothyroidism for about a year.  I have every symptom there is and was consistently being told that my test results were normal.  I have been through 5 Dr.'s trying to get some help.  Someone told me about this OB/GYN that might help.  I was skeptical, but looked her up on the web.  She is hypothyroid and that's how she started working with the issue.  She does not look at me through my blood results.  IMAGINE THAT!  She is treating my solely by my symptoms - IMAGINE THAT!  She took me off Synthroid and put me on Armour and devised a schedule that I will use to determine if I need to increase my med's - and I don't have to go back to her every 6 weeks!  In three weeks, I'm to look at my list of symptoms and ask myself if each one is 'better'.  If not, I increase my a.m. dose of Armour for 3 weeks.  Then I look at my list of symptoms again and ask the questions again.  If I'm not better, I increase my p.m. does for 3 weeks.  I continue on like that until I am back to myself.  I go back to her in July for a check, but if I experience any problems I call immediately.  SHE TRUSTS ME TO KNOW MY OWN BODY - IMAGINE THAT!!!  I have been on Armour for almost 3 weeks now and I do believe I am seeing a little light through the fog.  I know I am going to have to increase my dosage, but I'm ok with that.  I begged two Endo's and three GP's to change my med's from Synthroid to Armour and see if I would respond any better.  I begged them all to increase my dosage to no avail.  I think I'm FINALLY on the road to becoming the old Donna again and I couldn't be happier!!!
