I have done every diet under the sun, and would loose maybe 5-10lbs..and stop loosing. It is my full hearted belief that if your hormones (thyroid) is not "normal" then you pretty much can starve and not loose anything.
I started going gluten free yesterday, which will be very hard for me. My last test result came in and my endo thinks my levels are "perfect". I have been feeling pretty good, but my face and eyes are still pretty puffy. A symptom that I've always assumed was from being hypo. Several people have commented on it in the last week.. Sometimes I get hives on my chest and neck after consuming a lot of wheat products and my stomach has been bloated. I'm thinking maybe going GF is a good idea for me and worth the effort. My brother found out he is gluten in tolerant. Does anyone know how long it takes to get out of the system?
I'm working on low glycemic - yes, I think it helps me feel better because my blood sugar isn't swinging all over the place, and I'm not craving so much. I've dropped a couple of pounds, but I've been walking most days (until I got sick) and the way my weight bounces up and down, that's probably a fluke.
