Hi Peter,
My white spots do tend to dry out and get itchy at times. But for the most part I hardly know they are there.

that sounds like your meds...it's really important not to pay attentiont to antibodies, but rather your symptoms. A GOOD endo will treat you according to symptoms and check your TSH, FT3, FT$ and antibodies...my antiobodies were at 258 and I felt fine, its keeping it in check and your symptoms abating that matter.  These website help alot:

http://thyroid.about.com/ and www.drrind.com. You also could be adrenal fatigued.

Hi Peter,
I too have the white spots. I call them patches. I only see them on the upper part of my arms. If you couldnt' see them though I wouldn't even know they are there. My doctor told me the thyroid affects sooooo many things that this could be a reason for the white patches.

Hi the spots started on my hands when I previously had my level raised.  I have since had my level raised again by another 25mcg due to Antibodies.  Over the past week I have noticed spots on more and more places.  Legs, arms, feet and now just above my eyelid and also on my face which is also swollen.  The spots look like a nettle rash under the skin the area is red with little white spots under my skin.

I have been thinking, my syntoms only started when my doctor upped my Levothyroxine it started a couple of weeks later.  Since I have had it upped again by another 25mcg my spots are itchy and spreading very quickly.  Could I be rejecting the Levothyroxine.  has this happened to anybody before.

I've had Hashimoto's for 20 years now and get swelling on a daily basis - usually fingers though and feet never neck. i feel old before my time. never any skin conditions. Hashimotos symptoms are the same as low thyroid/ hypothyroid symptoms - just caused by immune system attacking thyroid. Hope you find out what is wrong with you.

I hve had an underactive Thyroid for years, i went to the doctors with swollen hands.  He done numerious blood tests and advised that my thyroid Antibodies were high but did not give me a figure,  my TSH has gone up to 18 and nothing else was mentioned.  He upped my Thyroxine from 225 mcg to 250 mcg and I need to go back in 4 weeks for another blood test.  The symtoms I am getting is white spots all over my body, feeling very cold, a little depressed and now really sore stiff neck and very painfull swollen feet as well as swolen hands.  The white spots did start on my hands only but they are all over now.
