I saw you Vitamin D level of 16, which is why I'm cautioning you against supplementing, at this point, even though vitamin D deficiency can cause hypothyroid-like symptoms. I'm suggesting that you check out the website I posted above then get further testing BEFORE the 6 month period, in order to find out what's going on.
Thank you! They checked both calcium and vitamin d last week. Vitamin d was a 16 and calcium was up a bit but doctor said she would just recheck levels in 6 months which make me concerned if it is truly hyperparathyroidism.

Make sure you get PTH levels tested, along with calcium levels. Vitamin D deficiency can cause many hypothyroid-like symptoms, but supplementing vitamin D can exacerbate a parathyroid issue, so make sure you've been checked out adequately.
