LID Q's - Allowed foods

Hi all, I'm having RAI done on May 15.  As of this Thursday I am on the LID.  I only have to do it for a week.  Wondering a few things.....I'm on a very strict nutritional program and typically eat two (6 ounce) servings of meat (chicken breast or eye of round) and 1-2 whey protein shakes per day.  Different things I've read says that meat is to be limited to 5 ounces per day and no whey.  Does anyone have any information on how our protein levels are reached with these limitations?  I cannot eat nuts and one can only eat so many egg whites in a day.

Thanks

THe LID cookbook has many great recipes, but I was so hypo, I didn't feel like cooking.  I don't think I got enough protein.  It's only a short time.  Check out the website and download the book- it's a lot of pages.

I found a vegetable based protein powder in the health food section of the market by Naturade.  It is Soy-free and dairy-free.  I make smoothies every morning with this.  I also found Hemp Milk at Whole Foods which is completely dairy, soy and salt free, in addition to salt free soups, chicken broth and other quick prep stuff.  The diet is extremely restricted, but it's only for a limited time and for a very, very good reason.

Best of luck,
Salt, Soy & Dairy-free-Shannon :)

You can go to thyca.org where you will find a LID that can be printed off. I just finished the LID and found this very helpful.
