Thank you! Hubby did ask for FT3 but this is what we got back. I'm wondering if hubby may have just developed this lately because he has Non Stop Energy at 70 years old!!! His B 12 was low also so they began injections today. The only S/S he is having is joint pain along with numbness/tingling in arms and hands. Maybe, he has learned to adapt though out his life if he has had this condition for a period of time. I don't believe they have ever checked him before and I was surprised being a Thy Pt myself when I seen his TSH level at 8.22.
You're absolutely right...TSH is distinctly hypo and FT4 is way too low in the range. TT3 is considered an obsolete test and pretty much a wast of money. Ask for FT3 next time.
Elevated TPOab indicates autoimmune disease (Hashi's). I've seen much higher numbers (like on MY lab report...944!), but raw numbers don't mean a lot when it comes to antibodies...they're either positve or negative. His are just slightly elevated, but antibodies can swing wildly even intraday.
Looks like he can benefit from some meds.
