I-131 Side effects?

I received I-131 on the morning of March 6th...by that night I had a sore throat.  Not a regular sore thoat...felt like pin prickles...if that makes any sense. Developed a dry cough a few days after this and neck tenderness.  Now today I've had a fever (100.5 - 101.5).  Are any of these symptoms normal?  Maybe it's just a coincidence and I'm getting a cold?  I do get bronchitis alot but the cough that accompanies that is always a congested cough.  This one is just dry.

The symptoms you have are normal and I would say most probably 'delayed'.
I got those symptoms within 3 days of RAI.
Drink as much as you can and just keep an eye on the heart rate, you may need a beta blocker.
Usually the sore throat is the thyroid trying to 'fire up' and its slowly dying (so to speak).
Any concerns then ring your Endo or Doctor.
I remember feeling GREAT at around 5 -6 weeks and felt strange also as I was so used to the rapid heartrate (hyper) and when it slowed down...silly me even wondered if my heart was still beating properly lol.
Your body has taken a beating from both the thyroid and the RAI...give it time to heal and get your levels checked usually 4 weeks after RAI.
All the best...the worst is over :)

did you suck on lemon drops? They help alot . You could be getting a cold . The RAI seems to affect the immune system. I always get sick after I have RAI.
