I GIVE UP!!

After spending 6 months trying to find a doctor,  ANY doctor who can deal with the simple issue of a high RT3----and after 6 years of never really having a doctor that even tests the right things for thyroid, let alone medicate properly.... I GIVE UP!!
Thought I found 2 possibilities but they were holistic doctors that want to run a hundred tests and have completely different views on thyroid problems. Hey, I just need a little T3 for a short time!!! So, as it turns out....MD's, DO's, Endos----whoever---it's all a racket and if you found someone who will even give you desicated meds, you're lucky but god help you if you have anything else go wrong. Adrenals? High RT3?? What on earth is that??
One last try, if I can get financial assistance, trying the Cleveland Clinic---for what I was willing to pay for, a simple problem that seems to be over everyone's head!! Very sad that the doctors that DO know what the deal is are too concerned about their "rackets" and not a bit concerned for the patient. If I can't get into the Clinic, or it doesn't work out, I suppose I will just be living with this. Sorry, but needed to rant. Shout out to Goolarra, who has been holding my hand through this horrible period -we would all be completely lost without the people here who answer our posts. Thanks for the support, all of you.

Thanks for posting! My last hope is at Cleveland Clinic, I am going to request a particular doctor who is actually a DO- Gimel had read about her and I had been eyeing her up in the past. Those 2 letters, DO, are the only thing giving me hope right now, because many doctors have tried to push me off on those very Endos you described. I will check into that group, but I have been keeping an eye on my RT3 for about 6 months now-it actually went UP when I lowered my thyroid dose. It is good to know what it is myself, but maddening that no doctors know what WE know...
It really IS all about money these days---I am all about money but it seems that it is a hypocritic oath, NOT a hippocratic oath that is given by most doctors these days!!! Things have got to change.

Yep, there's a book about RT3, someday I want to read it. Think it was by Dr Wilson?? Not sure.

You can order Reverse T3 on line and go to the nearest participating lab that has it, YET ENDOS are clueless because they dont cover this part in medical school. Pathetic. I asked an endo, that was his answer.

Just shows that most Drs are in it for the money.

If they had a true interest and desire to help people, they would update on there own. Its like their desire to learn ends when they get the degree.

Do you know about the Yahoo RT3 group? They might be of some help. Google it.

Sorry wish I knew how to help you, but I have never heard of the RT3 by any Endo.

My doctors (all specialist) go by TSH & sometimes do run the T4.

19yrs since TT, still have having dosage issues.
