I'm cutting my pill in half

I was just wondering if I'm getting the right amound of thyroid meds, I'm on Armour and for the past 6 weeks or so I've been cutting my pills in half, taking half in the morning and half around 3 but sometimes I'm late taking them, will this mess with my levels? Also They just fall apart so I chew them, are they absorbing that way? and I'm just wondering when I get my labs done the 31 will I be lacking due to this method of taking my meds?

thankyou, I have such a problem remembering that second pill, but I will set an alarm, thats a good idea. When I slice the pill it kind of falls apart, it doesn't seem that hard of a pill now. thankyou both

I agree...if anything, chewing your tablet ought to enhance absorption.  Either way, your labs will reflect the reality of how you take it, which is what you want.

I think I might try especially hard to be on time with the second half dose the day before the test...set an alarm...it's only for one day.

"(Armour was reformulated in 2009, supposedly decreasing the amount of dextrose and increasing cellulose. As a result, numerous patients reported problems with it and a return of hypo symptoms. We figured out we needed to chew it up to release the NDT from the excess cellulose and hardness. In late 2012, patients began to see some of the tablets softer again)"
