Stella,
Iam on Nifdeipine which is a calcium channel blocker for my Prinzmetals Angina, also on Mobic and Gabapentin for my joint pains. I take aspirin for blood clot prevention, Zofran for occasional nausea, Zantac for Gerd, Vit D3 4,000 IU, and Fish oil caps.
I have been tested for a general Auto Immune work up. The only thing that was positive was my ANA. The Titer was 1:80 Homogenous finely speckled. I'm also going to be tested for any Thyroid antibodies this coming week, which should give a picture of whether it is Hashimotos or not. I had to stop the thyroid pill however, because yesterday my chest started to feel heavy and I felt like I was being choked, also shortness of breath and slightly dizzy. Also had heart palps early this morning. My doctor warned me this could happen with my heart condition. Has anyone had that happen where the Thyroid medication aggregated their heart condition? Thanks, Terri
I guess I have alot of questions to ask here.
What other meds are you on?
Have you reached post menopausal levels?
What supplements do you take?
Any surgeries?
Taking a stab at looking at your labs since no references are given above. The free labs do seem off within the norm of levels.
Your TSH slightly indicates a higher value based off the AACE recommendation of .3-3.0 reference range. Most true hypos after finding a sweet spot with meds and labs find the TSH value is lower - around 1.0 when they feel good.
Also there is no indication or labs that could suggest you are autoimmune Hashi's which could be this issue for you too.
My doctor is going to do the A1c test next week as diabetes runs in my family, however I'm not thirsty all the time like alot of diabetics are. Did you have that symptom? As for sleep Apnea, my husband has it, and he has said I don't snore. Can you have this condition and not snore? I do take a sleeping pill to sleep, so I always thought I slept well and deep with it.
How long does it take your body to get used to the Thyroid pills? I felt really bad today, and it is only my 2nd day on them. Thanks, Terri
They are all symptoms of thyroid disorder that we have all had. You might want to post the ranges that are on your test results for a better response fom the more experienced members here. Good Luck FTB4
You don't mention getting your blood glucose readings and sugar levels tested A1c. These could have a lot to do with it too.
Both issues have very high symptoms for flaky skin, hair loss, and fatigue. You also might want to check to see how your sleep habits are. Sleep Apnea is a very dangerous issue if unchecked. It also can produce skin issues, fatigue, the burning eyes, stomach issues, shortness of breath. In my opinion, Diabetes, Thyroid issues, and sleep disorders can all three mask the other for symptoms together. I would get all three of these areas well checked. Just to rule out any of this.
