It might be an idea then to discuss having HRT with your doc. There are various thoughts on how HRT affects oestrogen status. But my Endo wants me to go back on HRT as she feels this will help stabilise my thyroid.
Not taking HRT, and do not have a blood draw until Feb of 09. I have noticed a increase in weight and am really frustrated with all.
Hi, I went through a premature menopause this year, and it caused my thyroid to go beserk too. They are very closely linked together and affect how each other work. So it's very hard to work out which symptoms belong to which condition. The best thing is to get regular bloods done to check where you are with both these conditions. HRT can also affect thyroid function too, but I'm not sure if you are on it. To be honest, there's not a lot you can do, you just have to go through it and deal with each problem as it happens. I have been told once you are fully through menopause and after a couple of years post menopausal, everything does settle down. But it is a very hard ride. All you can do is grit your teeth and keep going till it's over. Good luck!
im not sure how the menopause affects your thyroid but your levels look to high to me can you find a different doctor or persuade your one to increase your dose most people feel better around the 1 mark
good luck
