My trip to the ER...

So, I ended up in the ER this morning for my chest pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, etc.

Had a bunch of tests done and my heart is fine, my lungs are clear and there is nothing wrong that they can see. The ER dr said my thyroid tests were normal but I have hashi's and my TSH was way too high. He ran T3 and T4 but I don't know if they were free or not, doesn't say. He seems to think that my symptoms may be coming from my meds. Levothyroxine 125/daily. I have been taking it everyother day though because I was feeling so bad. I guess I need to take it everyday regardless because my TSH is too high now. I really want to be taken of they generic and try Synthroid to see if there is a difference.

Here are the results...

TSH: 2.558
T3: .99
T4: 7.80

Is it possible that I have all these symptoms because of the medicine? I saw the rheum yesterday and she ran a whole bunch of tests and no lupus, ra, or lyme. I feel terrible and just want to feel better.

I am glad you went to the ER but you need to followup with your endo now ... I am not too too familiar with Hashi's but do know the symptoms you had can be from being too hyper but your TSH isn't too hyper .. yet I am not too good with the T3 and T4's at all looking at labs so really I don't know but glad you are ok.

Sorry you don't feel well. I didn't like the levothyroxine either. I had severe chest pain all the time with it. You may want to talk to your doc about conversion issues. Hashi's is no fun when you go into the hyper mode. You should always take your meds regardless how you feel. I know I just want to quit taking them all, but I have to admit switching did seem to help a little. I am on armour now. Body is adjusting slowly.
