Gee,
You seem to have several issues going on. I am not positive about them having anything to do with the thyroid. But with all the other things this causes, I would not rule it out.
Maybe you can find a good thyroid info site, to get some answers, until someone more knowledgeable than me comes along.
I do want to tell you to let go of the weight issue. There are so many other problems this causes and stressing about that is just going to cause more complications. I am having so many "mental issues" that weight is at the bottom of my list of hated symptoms.
Not to mention the fact, that until the thyroid hormones are at proper levels you probably won't loose much weight. Just do your best to leave off the sweets, eat fresh live food, leave off the processed food as much as possible and drink as much water as you can. Also, lay off the caffeine. It wreaks havoc on the thyroid.
Not meaning to insult you if you already knew those tips, just wanted to pass them along in case you don't.
Peggy is right. I haven't had my thyroid removed but am being treated for Hyper T. When the Endo increases my medication, I gain a few pounds. When he decreases it I lose again. Roller coaster ride.....:)
In my lab work each month, he checks my potassium as well as calcium along with a slew of other things.
