Acella NP has dextrose as a filler/bidner like old Armour, old Nature Throid, and the current Canadian Erfa Thyroid.

When both old Armour and old Nature Throid were reformulated in 2009 wiith microcrystaline cellulose as the filler/binder, some people started having issues with it and the return of some symptoms. I was one of the many.

NP is like Amour was before it was reformulated. couldn't hurt to try, in my experience ,  a lot of docs think they are all the same but I noticed a big difference, it might be that one is absorbed better, or accepted better by our bodies. I don't know.  I think you have to try it, to see if it works for you, I tried all the synthetics, then Amour , then finally NP which worked well!! so it's a little of trial and error,  Kevin

It's more like the OLD Armour, before it was reformulated...no microcrystaline cellulose. What works for some, doesn't work for others. You might want to start a thread and post your labs (with their ranges) and list any symptoms you may be having.

I don't think the Armour is working for me but it is working better than Levathyroxin. I have been on Amour for two years. Are you saying that NP might work better? I'm confused if NP is really not like a generic, it's like the "real Armour"', how could it work differently?

NP is "called" a generic of Armour, but it's not really. It works to our benefit that most think it is a generic because then we don't have to get our doc to change our Armour script or vice versa....but make no mistake it is NOT generic for Armour. If Armour isn't working for you, definitely try the NP...both kl42 and I have done well on it. Good luck!!

Thank you for your reply. Do you think one is better than the other or do they work exactly the same? I know with some drugs that name brand works better than generic. What do you think?

NP is a generic Amour. it's made like the old Amour was made before the reformulation,(TO the NEW Amour)  it's cheep  ask for it , might help,  give it a try,  most docs/ insurance love it because its a "so-called" generic but really it's a Acella pharmaceuticals, brand /copy of old Amour, works for me. A couple of years back when I was on the new Armour and felt awful, I could feel the difference right away when I went on compounded so I believe you!! Weird that I got mine in Ohio almost a month ago and you're just getting yours...if you feel better already, then trust me it was worth the wait. I feel like death  still....but very glad you feel better!!!
