Just a different perspective regarding the family resemblance.

I would not just dismiss the family resemblance out of hand.

If everyone in the family had cancer of a particular type that say required the loss of the right arm.  If you had to have your right arm removed would people say, well it is a family resemblance!  Heck everyone in your family has had their right arm removed!

I don't think you'd dismiss that!

Having low thyroid is also hereditary.  So maybe all those people in the past with the round face and double chin also were Hypo and didn't know it and were not being treated!

Just a thought to consider.

The round puffy face could be a symptom of being hypo, as could the appearance of a "double chin".  The "double chin" could also indicate a swollen thyroid.  Without looking back at other threads, I can't recall your latest thyroid levels, but if I remember correctly, it seems that you had other symptoms of being hypo.

You need to talk to your doctor about getting new labs and a thyroid ultra sound to see what's going on.  Maybe you'll have to  just make an appt to go see him/her, if s/he won't return your calls.
