sorry she takes one drop a day
how does everyone feel about wellness clinics? my daughter was just put on thyradin and was prescribed 150mcg and is supposed to take 10 drops....
My comment for Reycar is addressed to you.Sorry twas a mistake.
Had no monitoring after radiation in the Phil. thinking it was completely OK until i felt so bad though routine tests showed neg results until thyroid test was recommended. And yeah, thyroid in trouble(Hypo - TSH around 99.0! )Started Thyradin 0.050 mg increased to 0.075 until TSH gradually normalized.By the way, i'm having regular tests (every 3 mos.) for almost 4 yrs now in Japan. This is probably my maintaining dose (0.075) bec. it hasn't changed since it normalized.
I agree that 125 mcg/day is too much to start with. My doctor started me on 25 mcg/day and increased it by 25 mcg/week until I got to 100. Working up slowly may help you tolerate the med easier.
thanks. yr advice has been very helpful. i will take a second opinion.
Yes..you have all the signs of being Hypo but I still think a ower dose of T4 med should be started first.
I still think 125mcg is too high for a starting dose.
maybe others can post their opinion.
Thanks. FT3 (2.30 - 4.30 pg/ml) and FT4 (0.90 - 1.70 ng/dl). the tests are undertaken in tokyo.
That comes to 125mcg (1.25mg) which is a high dose to start off with.
Which means you are taking 1 x 100MCG tablet plus 1/4 of a tablet daily?(total 125MCG and not MG).
Can you post your reference ranges on the FT3 and FT4 as they are different worldwide?
the prescribed dosage is 0.1 mg + 0.025 mg taken together once a day. How much will it come to mcg?
My FT3 is 2.32 and FT4 is 0.97. Please advise.
Why the high dose as the initial first dose?
What was your FT3 and FT4?
Normal starting dose is 50mcg.
Be careful you dont go hyper on that dose....I would be questioning the dose with your Doctor as your TSH is not that high to warrant that dosage.
Let us know how you go.
