Sorry about the diagnosis, but I am glad you figured out what was going on with your body. I wish you well. =)
Makani249,
I found out what is wrong with me. I have polycystic ovarian syndrome. All the symptoms i have are from that.
My Obgyn gave me a script of progesterine to bring on my period. then after that when i'm ready to have kids he would give me something to ovulate. He wanted to run so more blood work on me before i start the meds. At least i know what is wrong me and it can be fixed hopefully.
Just wanted to keep you up to date.
Thanks for your help
I pray that the endocrinologist can provide you with answers. I know it can be very challenging to deal with medical issues...especially when the doctors don't listen to the symptoms. As for your labs take them with you to your appointment, as there seems to be quiet a bit of them. As for treatment they should treat YOU, the person, not the labs. Good luck to you and keep us updated on what's happening. :)
Hi,
Just so you know I made an apt for Monday with the Endocrinologist. Hopefully I can get answers.
Let me know if you can read it. Thanks

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to read your post and which labs were which. If you can take out the ones I listed and their reference ranges, you may have to type it up and post it. The only one I was able to see was the TSH and ft4. It should look something like this:
TSH: 1..530 Ref. Range: 0.270-4.200
Thank you.
Hi Makani249,
I have my blood work.
I hope you can read it.

Hi Mish9807,
Depending on your type of insurance (PPO) you may be able to find an endocrinologist who may listen to the symptoms you have. Make sure they specialize in thyroid issues...as most deal more with diabetic issues. Post your labs and you will get feedback and more advice on what you could do. Chances are you have a high normal or a low normal hanging out somewhere which could be the culprit.
Hi Makani249,
Yes I have gone to the OBGYN and they told me it would take awhile to get my body back to what it was before I went on birth control. I showed them my blood work and they said it was fine.
This is my dilemia who do i go to check me out? My primary care dr told my my thyroid was normal. OB told me not to worry.
I had all those tested that you have listed. If you can tell me where to go next I will. I'm at my wits end. I really am starting to believe it is my thyroid. My heart races at night when i am lying in bed. I get dizzy every so often. Of course the weight gain. I constantly feel nauseous.
When i get home tonight I will post my labs.
Thanks.
Hi Mish9807,
Which thyroid lab test were performed? If you can post them with reference ranges, you will get a great deal of feedback on them. The thyroid can still be within a normal range and not function properly. I am living testimony and there are many others who would say the same. I just spoke with my OB/GYN and according to her, the thyroid CAN affect the menstrual cycle and weight even with the slightest changes in thyroid hormone.
Have you seen your GYN? They may be able to give you some insight to what could be going on. They can also run some lab test as well. I would request a full thyroid panel from which ever doctor you decide to return to. A complete thyroid panel would include:
Hypersensitive thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH),
free thyroxine (fT4),
free triiodothyronine (fT3)
reverse T3 (rT3)
anti-thyroglobulin antibodies (anti-TG)
anti-thyroid peroxidase antibodies (anti-TPO)
fT4/fT3
fT3/rT3
I hope this was helpful. **Don't forget to post the labs you already had*** Take care.
