Got my ultrasound results today

I have a 6mm nodule on my thyroid.  The endo says its too small to biopsy; so he'll check it in 9 mos.

He said I don't need FT3, Pituitary function, or parathyroid hormore tests.
He said he doesn't know why I'm fatigued, or in pain... he's sorry he can't help me, but I don't have a thyroid problem.
He suggested that I might want to talk to my Primary about my anxiety because that's probably why I am having difficulty swallowing.
He also mentioned that chronic fatigue and pain are symptoms of depression.
He told me to buy some otc vitamin D.

Just so no one has to go back and look at my other post; here's my info again:

TSH range: 0.550-4.780...........(mine:1.054)Normal
B12 range: 211-911.................(mine: 375)Normal
FREE T3 ................................Not Ordered
T3 total range:  60-181 ng/dL....(mine: 156)Normal
T3 uptake range:  22-35 units...(mine: 23)Normal
T4 range: 4.5-10.9 ug/dL..........(mine:11.7) HIGH
T4 free range: 0.89-1.76...........(mine:1.19) Normal
thyroglobulin antibody <20.......(Normal)
Thyroid Perioxidase Ab <10.....(Normal)
Vitamin D...............................15.7 (LOW)

To be honest; I wasn't depressed before, but I am now.

Different labs consider different normals, for example, my hospital's free T4 range stopped at 1.74, but other labs went up to 2.0.  The newer normal for TSH is in the 3-3.5, I would get a second opinion...What is your swallowing difficulty?  Pain?  Choking?  I had swallowing difficulty, I would swallow food then it would stick half-way down, then I would get massive, rapid hiccups which would only go away if I swallowed water.  Since I had my TT I have never had this again.  I had four nodules that were up to 2.1 cm, but if yours is in the right place it could cause issues with swallowing.

Thanks, Barb... I wish there was a better way to search for a doctor.  I just don't have the energy anymore. He didn't even bother to ask the obvious question (at least I think it is): Why is my vitamin D so low?
How do I find a doctor who is willing to listen.
My fiance was with me today, and he said "Why didn't you say anything?".  (He was really mad because he could tell I was fighting tears.)  I told him... I don't think this Doctor would believe that he wasnt' the smartest guy on the planet, so he sure wasn't going to admit that he might not even be the smartest person in that exam room!
(so frustrated)

Don't be depressed -- find another doctor!!  Get one who will recognize your FT4 as being low in its range, your B12 as low in its range, and will order FT3!!

Don't stop until find the treatment you need.  In the meantime, you should try bringing your vitamin D levels up (you can easily take 2000 IU/day.  Also recommend that you try either a sublingual or liquid vitamin B12; supplementing both of these might help.

Another option is for getting the FT3 is go to an online website where you can order labs without a doctor's order.  One popular site is healthcheckusa, at which you can get TSH, FT3 and FT4 for $85........ this is usually not covered by insurance, but the times I've used it, was sure worth the cost.
