Thyroid

I have noticed that when I to an activity, like bowling or something else, my thyroid feels like it is more swollen than what it has been.  I do not think it gets more swollen.  I think it feels that way because my pulse raises.  What do you think, does it swell more or is it the speed of the blood flow that makes it feel that way?

Hi Kristina,
I am hyperthyroid, with an enlarged thyroid.  The uptake scan doc, I spoke with shared alot of information.  But he said, that certain medications & infections can cause a thyroid to swell, reduce, swell etc....

He said, the thyroid is the most unpredictable part of the body, very difficult to diagnose.  The thyroid can conk out one minute and work the next, etc.....

But from past experience, acid reflux can also cause the throat swelling sensation, and so can allergies.

Good luck to you !!

Hi,
I also have the same feeling too, I shared with my general surgeon, and he said, it's not possible for the thyroid to swell, then reduce.

But my Endo said, yes it is possible, go figure !  But my Endo said, when my thyroid felt it was swelling to take Tylenol extra strength.  Then I asked the uptake scan doc recently, and he said the thyroid can swell/reduce.

No more thyroid questions for the general surgeon, Lol !!

My sister also shared, she felt her thyroid swell/reduce on occasions.

I have the exact same feeling... I like to jog and try to be active but sometimes I feel like when I do, my thyroid feels so swollen that I can't breath! Even when I'm just walking up the stairs. I really can't answer your question but I wanted you to know I have the same thing.
