Am waiting to have surgery next week to remove a 12mm hypoechoic nodual with small calcifications.in my thyroid.Anyway after having a blood text done,a doctor called me to say my Paraphyroid hormon was high,11.,-vitamin D low.I'm confused, does this have anything to do with my thyroid nodual?

I've never had surgery on my thyroid, but I would think some swelling might be normal.  You will need to work closely with you doctor to make sure everything is okay.

The only relationship the parathyroids have with the thyroid is their location in the body.  You have 4 parathyroids, located just behind your thyroid.  Your thyroid is shaped like a butterfly and there's a parathyroid gland behind each corner of the "wings" of the butterfly.

That said, if you have a parathyroid issue, which it appears you might, I think you would want to pin that down prior to having thyroid surgery, in case one or more would need to be removed.
