If an ultrasound can show that the thyroid is not functioning, that's the first time I've ever hear that.

Your TSH is 10.  0.5 to 5.0 is the old normal range.  The currently accepted range is 0.3 to 3.0.

You need to know your free T3 and free T4.  Once you get those, post if you wish and someone will help you interpret them.

My Dr. told me the ultra sound I had done shows the gland is there but not functioning.  This is about all I know other than the number that is supposed to be .5-5 is 10.  I haven't had all the numbers explained to me but when I see the Dr. next believe me I WILL  know and understand them.

Why is your thyroid totally inoperative?  Have you had it removed?

Fatigue and muscle and joint pain are specific symptoms.

Do you have any bloodwork to post?  If so, please do along with reference ranges.

It does sneak up on you, I never had fatigue or the muscle aches like I have now (Off and On)
but I had a cholesterol problem for years, and later came the low end of high blood pressure, which is caused by Hypothyroid. I was diagnosed with Hashi's after going to the MD for sleep problems, I don't know if it is 100 percent unproductive, or not but I did not really get the symptoms until after I started on the medication (Kind of Odd) Its hard to figure out if the meds cause the symptoms or the Hypo thyroid, or could the symptoms have become much worse if I did not start the medication?  Well Good luck and welcome to the forum.  FTB4
