Seem to be having right issues with the public health service over here! Have now had 3 lots of blood tests in as many months as all the docs are disagreeing with results and labs. The first round showed tested positive for thyroid antibodies, above normal range, with 'normal' TSH in the middle of the range. The second, 3 weeks ago, showed normal thyroid autoantibodies, but high t3 and high TSH. The docs seemed to disbelieve that this can be possible, but couldn't explain why. I have also had two scans and have a large inflammation of the gland and lymph nodes, but my recent blood tests are apparently all in 'normal range'. The doctor says I have thyroiditis, but says this means I don't need treatment, and he doesn't want to see me for 6 months to monitor it. This seems completely ridiculous given the awful symptoms I am suffering with--can anyone please give some basic idea of what might be happening, and what they think I should do? I am completely left in the dark here!
