Thanks for the suggestions. I'm lactose intolerant, so any dairy except cheese is out. I don't like meat at all except turkey and seafood (which apparently has to be limited due to the iodine). I'm going to look into whey though. I only want to eat nuts once a day since they do have a lot of fat, so I need to find a lot of other snacks since I have to eat so often. Peanuts and peanut butter seem to make my voice hoarse, so those are out too. I'll look into other types of nut butters though.
I'm not much help, but I went through a soy bean spell... (Sounds funny...) I wanted to get additional protein without eating too much meat, and I had read somewhere to avoid dairy, which was easy to do because too much dairy has always bothered me in a few different ways... so I found myself experimenting with things like tofu, soy milk and the other tofu-like stuff that looks like **** and tastes like it too. I felt like a hippie but I could swear it helped a little. I always tried to buy as organic as possible...
As much of a wreck as I am, I swear to you that I feel much more calm after I eat wild meat--like squirrels, which are in season here and are everywhere. I could be a vegetarian if I had to...but a few different times in the past year or so I've eaten REAL meat--deer, squirrel, rabbit--at a friend's house, and I always felt so calm and full afterward. I figure since I'm so hyper I need to eat more than most people (which is hard for me) and I need extra protein. Soy products are great but I'm out of that phase, I think.
Hi, I use whey protein all the time. You can get it in protein bars or powdered form. I put it in my coffee, in my cereal, oatmeal etc. I even bake with it to pump up the protein content.
Exactly as super sally said. I too fight hypoglycemia and had to find better choices of food without the soy....I feel aweful if i consume soy. It is not good for the thyroid in our cases. You would be surprised at the natural snacks you can find without any of the soy additives and oils. There are a lot of veggies, fruits, cheeses, etc out there to fill you up. I snack on almonds during the day for my in between protein snacks. Almonds and walnuts are good ones.

It is not good to each so much soy. Also soy prepared in these ways is actually highly processed and not very natural, when all is said and done. Hydrogenated oils are also not good for you.
Whey protein comes in the prepared drinks.
It would be better and probably cheaper to get your protein from real foods. ie. Crackers with cheese. Canned tuna. Egg. Chocolate milk. Nuts. Sandwich with meat and salad. Peanut butter.
