Rapid heart beat, high blood pressure

I had my thyroid removed years ago. I only had one side that develop and a goiter formed and it was removed. Tonight I had to go to the hospital due to rapid heart beat, when I got there my blood pressure was high 200/180 and my heart rate was 210. I told them that the doctor put me on a diet medication and I had lost 33 pounds in a month. They tried to get blood from me and they could not get any it took ten tries. Teat was ran and they said my thyriod was to high my dose is 0.125 and my blood work was 00:55 0.01L. I think its something else the diet pill is phentermine, I have a problem gaining weight because of not having a thyroid. I dont even eat that much and still gain weight. I hope you can give me some answers.

I can't comment on the thyroid concerning med's at all.

I do know that you should be questioning the phentermine though.  I take BP med's for my blood pressure and went on phentermine ~1 1/2 years ago to loose weight as a last choice thing.  I took 1/2 doses due to the incline in my BP and was having chest pains.  I did loose 51 pounds in 6 months in which was great, plus full of energy while on it.  Though in the last year it has all came back, plus now my energy level has sunk.

I am staying at a steady rate now by light exercising and eating right on a daily bases.  Not a good rate lol but, steady.  Beware of the phentermine!  With your BP issues I would say you should get away from the phentermine.  It's your choice; if you do stay on them try taking one every other day and see or pull one apart and plug with bread or something to only take 1/2.  Best of wishes to you.
Take care;  Me

I am not sure on the diet pill, but I can tell you that even caffeine and otc meds like Sudafed do a real anxiety # on me ?

Why do they have you on is it 125mcgs if I convert properly?  Maybe they can drop it to 100 or 88 and see how it goes ... especially since the removal was not for cancer as I understand it?

WELCOME!
