Receding frontal hairline in woman

I've been treated for hypothyroidism with Levothyroxinum (up to 50 mcg/day) and Thybon (liothyronin) (up to 10 mcg) for nearly 3 years (with breaks) and my TSH keeps at 0.5-0.9, T3F - at  3.70-6.0, T4F - at 14.0-17.0.  I have no other hypothyroid symptoms but constantly receding frontal hairline and thinning eyebrows worry me a lot. I know about the importance of the diet, am taking various supplements for the hair, there is no hereditary problem and I have no menopause symptoms as yet (I'm 50). As far as I understand, my thyroid tests results are low, so perhaps this can be the cause of the hair loss? I am asking you for advice because I've started doubting that my endocrinologist is competent as my hair loss problem has been getting worse during these 3 years. Maybe the dosage is too low? Thank you very much.

This is such an old thread that it is unlikely that you will get a reply from the other posters.  If you are having hair loss issues two of the most common causes are being hypothyroid and having low ferritin.  If you want us to assess your thyroid status, please post test results and reference ranges shown on the lab report.  Also if test for ferritin or other iron tests, please post those as well.  Do you have any other symptoms?  Are you taking thyroid med?  If so, what type and what daily dosage?

Thanks for your response. And thanks for reminding about the stress factor - yes I know it's very important. So bought a strong Vitamin B complex today - I've read also  that Biotin is especially important, so chose a complex with increased biotin dose.
You are asking what does my doctor say. The matter is that I changed 2 doctors in the same clinic during 3 years and no one says anything reasonable! Even about the fact that TSH below 1 is not good I learned from the Internet, not from them.
About hair loss supplements - well I live in Lithuania (near the Baltic Sea) which, as I understand, is not the same hemisphere as yours :) :) so the available products are different :) I'm taking Pantogar (by Merz, Germany) which contains amino acids (L-cystine), yeast, calcium and keratine, which are important for hair roots. The effect on nails was very quick - after one month, but I understand that one has to wait longer for the hair.
I also read about the importance of iron, zinc and calcium deficiency - but my blood tests show normal results.
Regarding falling of eyebrows - as far as I know this is an indication of hypothyroidism.
At the end of the day, the frame of mind and a smile are perhaps most important :)

Wow great post on giving vital information . Thanks :)

What supps are you taking for the hair loss? What exactly is your endo saying?

Hair loss is huge in hypo's but hypo's are classicly very stressed out poeple too. Hair loss can be caused from stress terribly.

Can you be a bit wired lately? I am completely regulated on meds at this time too - but my eye brows are falling out terribly too. They itch somthing ferce and when I scratch - they fall out like fall leaves falling off the tree.

I have blonde eyebrows - so I could be in worse shape if I was dark haired.

What exactly are your labs tests and what reference range are they using?
