Rights meds

Hi, just wanted to know if Berthyrox is the same as Levothyroxine , my son came back with the other one and I normally take Levo ?

All the information I found on Berthyrox was printed in Vietnamese...The med sounds more like a T3 med than a T4 med.

I don't recommend taking anything you aren't familiar with...

I agree thank you , I was very wary when I saw it , will denfinately try and find my normal one , thank you very much for your advice .

Thanks , here we don't need prescriptions here , health service not as it should be. Think I will try and find my normal one.
I also seem to be getting very hot flashes too, they are very bad, not sure whats going on ,.
Just checked the packet and the one I have is made in Berlin Germany "BERLIN CHEMIE AG "

A quick google search indicates that Berlthyrox seems to be a Vietnamese version of levothyroxine... from what I can find, it's available only by prescription as is the levo we're familiar with.  I can't tell you anything about its purity, etc.

One site I read says it's rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract into the blood and has a half life of only 7 hours, which is "not" typical for Levothyroxine, which actually has a half life of about a week.  

I'd be very cautious with it.
