Shortness of Breath

Hi Everyone, I'm new here, I do no have a thyroid anymore, but I've been looking for a chat site that I could relate to. I am the only one dealing with all these thyroid issues and it would be nice to here what some other people have to say that actually go through what I go through. So my first question is, does anyone experience shortness of breath alot???

I am on 62.5mcg four times a week and 50mcg 3 times a week.
Higher doses made me Hyper but these seem to be doing fine.
Maybe alternating as Ravare said might be the 'go' for you.
Its all trial and error when you first start 'tweaking' your meds and hopefully eventually it will come good.
But as we are all told, patience is the key.

Case and point, before my 2 Thyroid surgeries, I had a SMI (body mass index) of 17.05, and the normal level for someone of my age and height is 25 BMI, yet he endos kept telling me nothing was wrong............so what was normal by their standards was definitely not normal for me at the time.

What is a "normal" level for one person may not be normal for you. Before having my whole thyroid removed, most endos would tell me my blood tests were fine, yet I always felt and started showing signs of being Hyperactive. You know your body better than the doctors and sometimes you just need to be very blunt with them and let them know that you need them to work with you and listen to what you are saying.

Also I have read here on the boards that some people have to alternate their doses, like taking a low dose one week, then taking a higher dose for the next 3 weeks and back to the low dose again. Unfortunately its not an exact science so the Endos need to really work with you and listen to you and not just the numbers of the tests. Because normal sometimes is subjective to who you are talking to.

Well, It's been awhile since I have had my labs done. For the last year I was on the dose of 100 of synthroid and every lab my endo did on me showed I was right where I needed to be. I kept telling him that I wasn't feeling right and he just said maybe I should take some anxiety drugs. It wasn't until I began getting more severe symptoms of Hyper that I went to another Endo, so now my dose is 88, but only for 2 months, now I need to get my levels checked again. I just don't seem to have any good days anymore. I am always nauseous, short of breath, tired, extreamly moody!! And that's not even the whole list. My husband feels that we are better off dosing on our own, me, I just don't know anymore.

Shortness of breath can be from being both Hyper or Hypo.
It can also be from anxiety.
What were your last lot of blood levels and how long agao?
My guess is you may be Hypo and need an increase in your T4 meds (assuming you are on them).
