Hello, DFW from Texas. I'm from San Antonio. Today my endo finally concurred that I have parathyroid disease. We are in the process of sending my paperwork to Dr. Norman, the surgeon who does more parathyroid operations than anyone in the world. You really should check his website at www.parathyroid.com . Many of his patients do not have elevated PTH. He lists his email address on the bottom of the 'about us' page. Send him an email and ask his advice. That's what I did. That's how I've gotten this far. I'm tired of feeling sick!
No, I do not feel well with calcium levels in the 10s. CALCIUM SHOULD NOT GO TO THE 12S. THAT'S CRAZY!!! TIME FOR A NEW ENDO!!!
You have the same symptoms I do. My last endo tried to pump me up with vitamin D and that made me worse. Please go to www.parathyroid.com and see what I mean. You can also send me a note or check out my profile where I list my symptoms.
Best of luck to you!
Tamra
Thanks for your reply!! I am hypothyroid and the levels are normal. All other antibody tests have come out normal. I do have bone pain. My dr. says to check with Rheumatologist. I have been a lot more irritated. Tired all the time. No energy!! I am not sure if my calcium is high enough for me to be concerned. As I have checked my PTH only once, & it is low, wonder if I have to do anything else. I would also check my glands.
I would get your thyroid checked up and down. Get a sonogram of the gland, Free T4, Free T3, all antibody tests, LH, FSH, and Prolactin, ACTH, and Cortisol. I also had low vitamin D and I'm about to get my Parathyroid checked too because I do have a lot of symptoms and I have cysts and nodules and a mild enlargement of one side of the gland. Low Vitamin D tends to be common with people who also have Hashimotos or other thyroid conditions.
