Medications can affect us all differently; I'd suggest that you see a dermatologist; they may be able to do tests to find out for sure. Or try switching to a different medication. Have you tried Tirosint?
Thanks for your answer. I too have been on levothyroxine for several years and my last levels were normal. However, every time I am exposed to the sun, I break out in a rash in exposed areas like arms, face and legs. A doctor I saw recently told me that it could be related to the levothyroxine. He has seen similar reactions in others. So, ???
I don't think so; I've been on various forms of levo for several years and spend a lot of time in the sun, but never had a problem.
I do have a good friend who is allergic to the sun - breaks out in horrible rash whenever her skin is exposed for more than a few minutes.
Any other symptoms? Could you still be hypo?
What are your latest thyroid hormone levels?
