Symptoms of hyperthyroidism??? Please help

This all started about a week ago. Last friday night I was laying in bed watching tv and started feeling like I was getting a panic attack. I started getting pounding heart, hot, shortness of breath, nausea. I splashed some water on myself and went to sleep because I felt so horrible. The next day I felt a nervous feeling the whole day. It never went away. I just had alot of anxiety and shaking. I also didn't really have an appetite. I continued feeling the same way all weekend. Finally Monday after still feeling terrible I went to the ER and they just gave me meds for anxiety. I still kept feeling just "NOT MYSELF". It was like something was running inside my body and I couldn't turn it off. I just felt so much nervousness and anxiety. So I went back to the ER on Thursday night and they finally did a work up. They drew some blood and did an EKG. Thankfully my EKG came out normal. The doctor said that my TSH was normal but that my free T4 was high. He just gave me some beta blockers and told me to make an appointment with my doctor for a work up on my thyroid. I also have to mention that I had a miscarriage this past July. I'm wondering if I could have hyperthyroidism and could it be a result of my recent miscarriage. I have alos lost 9 pounds in one week since feeling sick. I also have increased bowels movements (probably about 5/day) and just yesterday I started having diarrhea. Last night I felt like I was having another panic attack. Also, my stomach feels weird. It growls alot and feels like the food is being pushed down my bowels fast. That may sound weird but that's what it feels like. And after I eat my symptoms kind of feel worse. Has anyone experience this with hyperthyroidism? Any info will help. I just feel like I am going crazy and I just want to feel like my normal self again.

Could it be hyperthyroid if my TSH was normal but my free T4 was high?

I started suffering with hyperthyroidism after the birth of my son at 21. All your symptoms do sound like you may be having it. It took me a while to get anyone to listen to me too. I had lost down to 98 lbs after giving birth. I finally was dx with graves and hashimotos but i have had a thyroidectomy in 2006 and of course suffer from hypo now but i guess i still have the hashi because i have hyper and hypo symptoms. This disease is a nightmare. I suffer from severe panic attacks and anxiety all the time. PLease find you a good Endocrinotlogist. I wish you much luck and hope you feel better. Terribly sorry for the miscarriage you suffered.  God Bless
